When your child first arrives at playgroup, they need to hang up their coat, find their picture with their name on it and
place it in the name basket.
At the beginning of the session we take the register with the children talking about the day the date and the month.
They can choose which activity they would like to do. There is sand, water, painting, cutting, glueing, playdough, jigsaws,
drawing and construction. We also have a book corner, computer, home corner, climbing frame, shop, cars, trains and ride on
bicycles. This equipment is available at every session although some equipment is rotated on a monthly basis.
When the weather is fine we also have an outdoor area, half of this is covered with soft tarmac. As well as activities
that are used both inside and outside, we also have ball play and balancing equipment.
The children can come at anytime and help themselves to a drink, fruit and snack in the cafe area.
AT about 11.15am we tidy up, on Tuesday we have group time. This is a time when the keyworker talks to their group of
children about the theme or plays a game for about 5 minutes.
On Tuesdays we have music time where the children sing songs and use musical instruments. Magic sheep always comes on
Thursdays and asks us a question, the children take turns in answering. We always finish our session with a story and rhymes
that are connected to our theme.

CHOOSE A BOOK
In the enterance there is a selection of books, you are welcome to use this everytime you visit. Simply choose a book
and exchange it each time you visit.
SPECIAL BOOKS
We have Record of Achievement books, these are filled in while you child is at playgroup and are available at any time
for you to look at. They contain photographs of your child, writing or pictures that have been completed at playgoup. Parents/
carers or the child can add comments, photographs, or pictures/ writing that have been completed at home.
